Ok so a recent pic by a mate of mine has rather ruffled my feathers. well its not so much the picture, but more everyones comments:
well here is my response to the debate, i decided it was better to fill up my journal than her comments page:
i'm curious to know exactly what everyone's issue with crocs is. Everyone says 'oh they are just soooo ugly!" is that even a real reason? (or is it just some 'expert' on fashionable shoes decided they were ugly, and being the sheep that we are we all jumped on the bandwagon and blatantly ignored the pros of such shoes. They ARE a comfortable and well balanced shoe, perfect for the beach, or as gardening or around the house shoes, and even at work we wear them, not to mention day to day wear)
A workmate of mine got abused by total strangers for wearing them while walking down the street. He was abused because of his choice of FOOTWEAR, by people who don't even know him! Is this the world we live in now?
but hey, if you'd all prefer to wear your arch collapsing and toe crushing heels and converse sneakers (which can also ruin your back fyi) just so people don't judge you as some kind of loser, be my guest.
Now just to clear some final things up:
Yes i like crocs
no i'm not obsessed with them, i just dont like being mocked for my choices of picking comfort over looks. (which happens a lot)
I do also wear heels and converse (and i love my connies)
But as far as footwear that is bad for you, converse (and other flat based thin soled sneakers) and heels really are the worst, and shoes like crocs with a softer base and a well formed arch, really are fantastic.
*hugs her crocs*
